Kingdom Life: School of the Spirit


It is that time of year again! Kingdom Life School of the Spirit is starting up for Fall Semester 2019 on September 15. We will be meeting at Christ Community Church and Training Center. The school is open to the public, serving both the Gateway community as well as learners from around the world.

Three Different Ways to Attend

1) Face-to-Face only (meeting at the church)
2) As a Blended Student with both online and face-to-face learning options
3) Attending as a Virtual Only student, with all the learning happening online.

Select An “Audit Only” or “Credential” Track.

Learners will have the option of simply auditing the course(s) or taking the course(s) as credit bearing units of study. Those auditing will attend face to face meetings only either in person or by viewing the live stream. Those taking the course(s) for credit will be part of a robust learning community that offers vetted resources, more 1-1 learning with course instructors, collaborative learn by doing, as well as opportunities to create artifacts to show mastery of learning. Beginning Spring semester college credit will be available for all courses taken. Courses can also go toward other forms of credentialing.

Inductive Bible Methods 101 – Instructor: Dr. Terry Shiver

Are you unsure how to approach the scriptures in a way they are easily understandable? Do you struggle with seeing the purpose behind the writing and the author’s point of view? Are you frustrated when people take scripture out of context?

Well this course will address all that and more.

Purpose
The purpose of this course is to equip you with tools for an inductive study of the English text of God’s Word. The course will be taught in such a way that you will not only learn how to “unlock” truths for yourself, but also be able to teach others. We will focus on four interpretive methods throughout the course: Observation, interpretation, personalization, and application.

At the end of this course you will be able to do the following:

  • have tools to effectively engage each chapter, book and epistle of the Bible in ways that help you interpret that the author intended and be able to make immediate applications of these principles to your life.
  • be equipped to effectively prepare, teach and preach from the Bible.
  • develop a new level of confidence in being able to hear from God and rightly represent the principles found in scriptures.
Healing Theology 101 – Instructor: Sheryl Nussbaum-Beach

Have you ever wondered what the Bible says about healing? Or questioned why God doesn’t heal everyone? Maybe you have prayed for people to be healed with little success and want to know why. Or maybe you struggle with determining if healing even happens today!

Healing Theology will look into these phenomena and more.

Purpose
This course is taught from a ministry minded perspective and is designed to introduce the student to a theological and biblical perspective for understanding healing in today’s world. Students will be exposed to multiple perspectives through the Bible, books from respected authors, white papers, and video so as to develop their own healing paradigm. Field assignments and field research will be required for completion of the course.

At the end of this course you will be able to do the following:

  • understand and articulate your perspectives on healing from a sound scriptural and theological base.
  • know how to find the will of God concerning healing.
  • experience first hand the laying on of hands and praying for the sick.
  • understand inner healing of the soul and its importance in the healing process.
  • know both what to do if you lose your healing and understand the mandate for walking in healing.

Virtual Only

Audit Virtual Only is a no cost option and consists of access to live streams and recorded archive of live streams.
For Credit Virtual Only is $150.00 per course and gives access to everything – all face to face content and all online content and expectations.
